I have ever taken the taxi in Hangzhou from my hotel to 西湖。 I said 我要到西湖 去, 很远吗?司机回答:不太远。 然后他问我 从哪儿来?我也 回答他:我从泰国来。他 麻 烦我 explained about Thai style boxing in chinese. I couldn't give him the answer in chinese because I had no idea to spoke in mandarin about boxing terms. This is a my experience about taking a taxi in china.哈哈。

Hi moo84,
哈哈。This is a good story. Thai style boxing in Chinese is 泰拳(tàiquán). But I don't know any boxing team... I couldn't tell you how to say their names in Chinese...
When did you go to 西湖? 你喜欢西湖吗?

Hi. Ellie,
Thanks for reply me. I went to西湖 2 years ago. It's amazing and nice place for me. I have had 西湖鱼 for my lunch also. 我很印象和喜欢那个地方。

Hi moo84,
I love 西湖 too. But there are too many tourists... 西湖醋鱼(West Lake Fish in Vinegar Gravy)很好吃!
We would not say 我很印象那个地方。You‘d better say " 那个地方给我很深的印象。", which literally translate as “That place gives me a very deep impression.”

Hello

I have a question, is a good suggestion to roll our tongues while we are pronouncing any word with third tone, is more effective??
This one i think is the more difficult for no native chinese speakers.

Hi Juan Antonio,

I think roll the tongue would not effect the tongue. When we say some syllables like "zhi" or "ri," we need to roll the tongue. But the third tone is going down first and then raising up.
You can upload your recording. We can see if your pronunciation is correct.
