Questions that front desk receptionists may ask when guests checking into a hotel.

Adding "了(le)" to a verb indicates that a particular action has been completed or that an event has occurred. Adding "没(méi)" before the verb in a sentence indicates that an event has not occurred; and this sentence structure does not require using "了" at the end of the sentence.

The followings are the reminders for the guests from hotel staff members:

In the sentences below, "我(wǒ)" is the subject. "您(nín)" in the verb-object phrase "请您(qǐng nín)" is the object of "请(qǐng)" and also the subject of the second verb. These sentences are called "Bi-constituent" sentences in Chinese grammar. The object in the initial S-V-O structure also acts as a subject in the following sentence. Thus, the object of the initial verb-object phrase is also the subject of the following subject-predicate phrase.
